Kirsten Higgins

Kirsten has been instructing yoga for 6 years, although her yoga journey really began over 11 years ago as a student. After experimenting with yoga asana at home and at a studio in her home town, she noticed yoga’s healing effects on her psyche. After the mental and physical challenge of yoga, Kirsten felt proud of herself and strong. She knew there was so much more to learn, and that it must hold a place in her life. While studying physical education in college; Kirsten fell in love with the art and science of yoga. Over the years she has taken as many classes as possible to learn a range of styles. Kirsten began her yoga training in 2007 and enjoys guiding a wide range of students in-home as well as in studios and gyms. She enjoys guiding special populations in their practice, such as seniors, children/young adults and prenatal/ postpartum women. Kirsten also holds a master’s degree in special education & has practiced yoga with her students during her years as a special education teacher of students of autism. When teaching a vigorous multi-level vinyasa class, she teaches with a light-hearted, playful style focusing on alignment and safety. Kirsten feels so blessed to have found her life’s passion and the ability to share it with others.
